Knox Associates
has taken the
guess work out
of purchasing
Nevada Dental
Insurance for
families and
individuals.
We have searched
the industry and
selected
Ameritas
BrightOne as our
sole individual
Nevada Dental
Insurance
Carrier.
With any
Individual /
Family Nevada
Dental Insurance
plan you have
wait periods
before you can
access certain
benefits.
One thing you
should look for
when purchasing
Nevada Dental
Insurance is the
network of
dentists you
will have access
to. With
Ameritas you
have access to
the
Diversified
Dental Network.
This is one of
the largest
Dental PPO
Networks
available in
Nevada.
Because
individual / family dental plans are
somewhat limited with regards to the maximum
dollar amount they will cover in a calendar
year, you should take into account the
following when purchasing Nevada Dental
Insurance.
We recommend
Ameritas Dental for your Individual /
Family Nevada Dental Insurance needs.
When
possible, be sure to utilize in network
dental providers - Your dental dollars
will go much further!
We
are not a fan of indemnity style dental
plans - the dentist can charge you what
ever he/she wants - the indemnity dental
plan only reimburses based on a
percentage of Usual and Customary Rates
(UCR)
When
using a true PPO Nevada Dental Plan -
and you utilize a contracted provider -
the provider can not charge you more
than the contracted rates.
If
you have a tooth that has been pulled
while you were not covered by Nevada
Dental Insurance? If so, it will
be considered a pre-existing condition
and bridge work or implants will not be
covered to fill the empty space.
Orthodontic benefits are normally
considered life time benefits - this
means the benefit amounts will not
"stack" if you have multiple dental
insurance coverage's. Call for a
more detailed explanation.
Out
of pocket expenses that are not paid for
by Nevada Dental Insurance can be
considered "eligible medical expenses"
by the IRS and therefore can be covered
by your Nevada Health Savings Account.
The
newest forms of Nevada Health
Insurance are Health Savings
Account Qualified Plans.
These plans were made permanent
in 2004 and already have
attracted more than 3,000,000
policy holders.
We
have seen these
plans work very well for
individuals and family's who are
over the age of 30 and generally
in good health. By raising
deductibles and saving the
premium difference into a tax
deferred Health Savings Account
it is very likely that a family
can save over $14,000 over a
period of 5 years with out
compromising coverage -
see this example.
HSA's offer significant tax
advantages
